# Pipedream Integration - Generate Images in a Code Step

Pipedream lets you render Imejis designs from any workflow with a short Node.js
code step. Design a template once, mark the parts that change as dynamic fields,
then map your trigger data into those fields and get a finished image back.

## What you can automate

- **Social graphics from any trigger** — a new webhook, email, or CRM event
  becomes an on-brand image.
- **Personalized visuals at scale** — one image per recipient or record.
- **Receipts, certificates, and badges** — turn a payment or form into a
  branded document.

## How to set it up

1. Add a step to your workflow and choose **Run custom code** (Node.js).
2. In the code step, POST to your design's render endpoint:

   ```
   https://render.imejis.io/v1/<designId>
   ```

3. Send your Imejis API key in the `dma-api-key` request header, with
   `Content-Type: application/json`.
4. POST a JSON body of field overrides. Each key is a dynamic field, set with
   its nested property:

   ```json
   {
     "title": { "text": "Welcome, Jordan" },
     "plan": { "text": "Pro" }
   }
   ```

   Pull values from `steps` to fill the fields. Omitted fields fall back to the
   design's defaults.

5. The returned image is available to all later steps. Request a stored URL
   instead of raw bytes by appending `?delivery=hosted` to the render URL.

Supported output formats are PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF — choose with
`?format=png`. The Imejis API hub also ships a ready-made code step you can
paste straight into the editor.
